Spin a Catboy Mutation Tier List
Mutation Hunter costs 799 Robux. Spend it on units that already deserve a pad.
Mutation Hunter is a 799 Robux gamepass on the Spin a Catboy store, created a day after launch and still for sale. That price is not a snack. It sits eight times above LUCK and thirteen times above 2X CASH. This list exists so you do not buy it to mutate a C-tier common you were about to sell.
Mugpugs did not publish a full mutation chart in the public description. We rank targets, not fantasy trait names. When official trait names appear, latest updates will get them first.
S tier — mutate a placed Secret
If you already hunt Eclipse and a Secret is on the Base, Mutation Hunter has a job. You are multiplying the rarest income you own. Do not mutate from storage. Place, then mutate. The Secret guide is the farm; this pass is the polish.
Super Secrets follow the same rule, harder. If you own one, it is the first mutate, full stop.
A tier — mutate your actual best earner
If you do not have a Secret yet, the pass is early. If you buy it anyway, point it at the Catboy that already leads your ticker, including a strong Catgirl. See the Catboy ranks. Mutating a random pretty unit because the animation looks cool is how 799 Robux becomes a decoration.
B tier — wait
No Secrets, plot still filling, Skill Tree still empty. Mutation Hunter is B-tier as a wishlist and D-tier as a purchase. Spend 59 on 2X CASH and 119 on LUCK first if you were going to spend Robux at all. Those passes help every pack and every offline tick. Mutation Hunter helps one unit.
C tier — mutating filler
Commons, duplicates, and anything you plan to sell. A mutated common is still a common with extra steps. Do not “practice” on trash. There is no public free practice mutate.
D tier — buying the pass to fix a dry streak
Mutation Hunter does not raise Eclipse 1/100. It does not replace pack ranks. If you are dry on Secrets, buy packs, not a mutate pass. Scripts that promise auto-mutate plus auto-Secret are covered on script safety.
Pass comparison, because 799 needs context
| Pass | Robux | Job |
|---|---|---|
| More Storage | 49 | Extra backpack |
| 2X CASH | 59 | Income, including the save-up for Eclipse |
| Auto Skip | 79 | Faster opens |
| LUCK | 119 | Roll help |
| VIP | 119 | Comfort |
| Mutation Hunter | 799 | Mutate |
Buy down that table before you buy the bottom row, unless a Secret is already posing on a pad.
Community units such as Harriet can be mutate targets if they are your best placed earner. The badge does not make her the right target by itself. Submissions are how new faces arrive; they are not a mutate priority list.
When a patch adds named mutations (income, luck, offline, cosmetic), we will split S-tier by trait. Until then, the only S-tier move is: mutate the rarest unit you already placed, then go back to opening Eclipse.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the most common questions.
Is Mutation Hunter worth 799 Robux?
Only if a Secret or your true best earner is already on the Base. Otherwise buy 2X CASH and LUCK first.
Does Mutation Hunter raise pack odds?
No. Eclipse stays 1/100. The pass is for mutating units you own.
What should I mutate first?
A placed Secret. If you have none, wait or mutate your current highest earner.
Can I mutate commons to learn?
You can. You should not. There is no public free practice mutate.
Where do mutations fit in the loop?
After packs, placement, and Base upgrades. Read how to play.
