Spin a Catboy Pack Tier List
Buy crates by published Secret rate, not by how loud the open animation is.
Pack ranks in Spin a Catboy are easy because the developer published the math. Eclipse is 1/100 Secrets. Packs that cost 50B are 1/150. Everything else is 1/100,000. Super Secret is about one tenth of those numbers. This list is that paragraph turned into letters so you stop buying the wrong crate when you are bored.

S tier — Eclipse packs
1/100 Secrets. About 1/1,000 Super Secret. This is the hunt crate. Save for it once the Base is full. Open in small stacks, not as a single tilted click after a dry hour.
If the shop ever renames Eclipse, trust the rate on the label. The word Eclipse is how the current description identifies the 1/100 line.
A tier — 50B packs
1/150 Secrets. Close enough to Eclipse that a full bankroll should still go here when Eclipse is missing. 50B is a real price. If spending it would skip a Base slot, it is not A-tier for you today. Context matters.
B tier — mid crates with honest labels
Any pack that is not Eclipse, not 50B, and not the cheapest filler, but still costs enough that you notice. If the UI does not give a better Secret rate than 1/100,000, it is not magically B-tier. We only promote a mid crate if Mugpugs posts a new rate on updates. Until then, treat mystery mids as C.
C tier — cheap filler packs
1/100,000 Secrets. S-tier at filling empty pads in hour one. D-tier as a Secret strategy. The letter on this page is C because new accounts need them. The letter on a hunt night is D. Know which night you are having.
D tier — opening anything while storage is full
A crate opened into a jammed backpack is a wasted crate. Buy More Storage or place units first. The rate does not matter if the Catboy has nowhere to stand.
Passes that change pack value without changing the letter
- Auto Skip (79): makes S-tier stacks less painful. Does not raise 1/100.
- LUCK (119): may help rolls. Still not a new rate.
- 2X CASH (59): helps you afford S and A crates. Best pass for pack climbing.
- VIP (119): comfort.
- Mutation Hunter (799): not a pack. See mutations.
2X title flags
When the experience name shows [2X], farm cash, then buy S or A. Do not farm C-tier crates faster. Faster 1/100,000 is still 1/100,000. Confirm whether the event is money or luck on latest updates.
Codes such as ILOVECATS should buy C-tier fills on a new account and A/S-tier on an account that already has a full plot. The same string is C-tier fuel or S-tier fuel depending on pads.
Open S when hunting. Open C when planting. Never open D on purpose.
Worked bankroll examples
New plot, code grant in pocket. C-tier cheap packs until every pad has a body. Then stop. That is getting started, not a hunt.
Plot full, 20B in the bank. Do not open. Buy a Base node or a Skill Tree income node. 20B is not a 50B pack and it is not an Eclipse stack.
Plot full, 150B in the bank. One 50B A-tier crate, or save toward a short Eclipse stack if Eclipse is in the shop. Do not buy three mystery mids.
Dry on Eclipse. Stop. Collect offline. Do not “recover” on 1/100,000. The odds tool already told you cheap crates are not a recovery plan.
Letters only help if you obey the example that matches your HUD, not the example you wish you had.
